Eclipse 3.1 Integration

Studio 5 is powered by Eclipse 3.1, which lets voice application developers take advantage of all of the latest improvements to the leading Java Integrated Development Environment, use best-of-breed source control and versioning systems, or extend Studio’s functionality with plugins from Audium partners or the Eclipse development community.

The Eclipse IDE provides a generic framework for development for all users, while tools specific to different job functions exist as snap-in components. Development teams can collaborate within a common environment to complete a project, simplifying management and speeding up deployment.

Element Groups

Users can now view and save groups of elements as a single component, an Element Group, that can include any part of an existing callflow. For large applications, Element Groups enable overview and detail views of complex processes, simplifying long callflows.

Element Groups can also be saved as a reusable component for drag-and-drop deployment across applications. Application designers can encapsulate common, multi-step processes for a build once, deploy everywhere approach that speeds development, and encourages knowledge retention.

Documenter

The Studio 5 Documenter is a powerful tool for exporting application data of all types. Use it to create application specifications, prompt lists for studio recording, simplify QA workflows, or provide business-level overviews of applications.

By automating processes to capture and summarize application data, Documenter encourages best practices in documentation creation, simplifying information sharing across teams and business units. With Documenter, it’s easy to create data summaries customized to the needs of every team member.

Prompt Manager

Studio now enables user interface designers to edit and configure prompts either individually, or from a global application view. Prompt manager’s powerful sort and replace functions streamline the implementation of global changes in the application user interface.

Decision Editor

Decision editor provides an intuitive graphical interface for developers to create application decision logic. Users can implement and define business logic within the application without being required to know or use XML, making it possible, for the first time, for business users to create and configure dynamic VoiceXML applications that deliver a customized experience to each user.
